Frequently Asked Questions about Atlantic Seaboard

The Atlantic Seaboard is the stretch of coastline west of Table Mountain, running from the V&A Waterfront and Mouille Point through Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Camps Bay to Llandudno and Hout Bay.

The Atlantic is cold, usually 12°C to 16°C in summer, thanks to the Benguela current. It is refreshing on hot days, and most of our villas have private pools.

Camps Bay is very popular with families for its beach, tidal pool and restaurants. Sea Point offers the promenade and public pool, while Llandudno and Bakoven are quieter and more secluded.

Most Atlantic Seaboard suburbs are between 5 and 20 minutes from the city centre by car.

Cape Town’s summer south-easterly wind can be strong, but areas such as Clifton, Bantry Bay and parts of Camps Bay are relatively sheltered.
